It is with deep sadness that we share the untimely passing of our Mayor Barry Hillestad. Though only newly sworn in as mayor, Barry has been serving our community for decades with a selfless drive beginning in 1997 when he moved to Waubay to be our city police officer, followed by his tenure as Day County Sheriff.
